Brief Bios
About Young Ja:
Born & raised in Seoul, Korea. In 1950, she walked with her family from Seoul to Pusan just ahead of the invading Chinese & North Korean armies. After high school, Young Ja attended Ewah University (the most prestigious, private women’s university in all of Asia) and graduated with a BA degree in physical education and dance. While at Ewah, Young Ja was one of ten women students selected to attend the rigorous South Korean Army Airborne School. She and two others completed the training. After Ewah University, she spent a year with the Korean National Ballet as an associate dancer. When her association with the Korean National Ballet ended, she took a position with the Korea Times as a reporter. Young Ja eventually went to the University of Arkansas, Little Rock, Arkansas, as an exchange student where she met her husband, Lyle, and graduated with a BA degree in education. Young Ja also holds a California Teaching Credential.
About Lyle:
Born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. After high school, Lyle attended Drake University in Des Moines for a year then joined the US Army. After service, he enrolled in the University of Arkansas in Little Rock, Arkansas, graduating with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration with a minor in marketing. Lyle & Young Ja moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan, where Lyle pursued graduate studies at the University of Michigan, Graduate School of Business. In 1972, Lyle took a position as Director of Financial Systems for a large savings & loan in Los Angeles. In 1976, Lyle & Young Ja entered the field of residential Real Estate sales.
Their in-depth understanding of Asian customs and mores has served Lyle & Young Ja well in the Orange County Asian community (3rd largest Korean population in the world) and has greatly added to their success as Realtors.
Since beginning their real estate career, Lyle & Young Ja have won almost every Top Sales award available. They have also contributed countless hours of their time to their board of real estate, The Pacific West Association of Realtors, in an effort to enhance their profession. Lyle is currently a member of the Professional Standards Committee where he serves as an arbitration/complaint judge.
